Some of the happiest moments I see in my work happen when a group of friends has an afternoon with nothing to do except be together. The phones go down, the champagne is poured, and conversations that usually get squeezed between obligations have room to stretch out. A spa day planned with care gives you exactly that. Here is how to plan one, from the setting to the timing to the treatments.
Begin With the Occasion and the Guests
A bachelorette weekend, a birthday, a pre-wedding celebration and a quiet girls’ getaway each call for a different mood. A bride’s group may want something playful and glamorous, while a birthday among close friends may suit a slower, more restful afternoon. Decide first what you would like the day to feel like, and the rest follows naturally.
The size of the group shapes the pace of the afternoon and the number of professionals who will be with you. Our Glow & Chill package is available for two guests and more, with one or two dedicated professionals. Once we know your numbers and your occasion, we advise on what will work best for your group.
Choose a Setting That Feels Private
A spa day feels most special in a space you already love. A villa terrace above Orient Bay, a shaded garden, a pool deck or the aft deck of a yacht can all become a calm, private sanctuary. Look for shade, a flat and quiet corner, a little breeze, and enough room for treatment beds and a lounge area where guests can sit between treatments. In my experience, the setting matters just as much as the treatments, because guests relax faster when the space already feels like theirs. Because everything is brought to you, nobody needs to travel anywhere or share the space with strangers.
Choose the Right Time of Day
The Caribbean sun is strongest in the middle of the day, so it is worth planning around it. Late morning in a shaded setting works well, and so does the late afternoon, when the light softens and the temperature eases. A late afternoon spa day has the added advantage of finishing just before dinner, so everyone steps out fresh, glowing and ready to dress for the evening. Allow between two and three and a half hours, depending on the size of the group.
Choose Treatments That Everyone Enjoys
A group spa day works best when the selection is kept simple and every guest receives the same level of care. An express facial and a relaxing foot massage are the combination I recommend, because both are quick, restful and welcoming to guests of every age, including those who have never had a spa treatment before. Each guest leaves with fresh, glowing skin and feels relaxed, and nobody has to wait long for a turn.
If your group would like to extend the afternoon, a manicure and pedicure, hair styling or soft makeup fit naturally before a celebration dinner. A short yoga or breathing session at the start of the day also helps everyone settle and arrive in the moment.
While one guest enjoys her treatment, the others have champagne, fresh fruit, good conversation and the view. The professionals move between guests, so the afternoon keeps an unhurried rhythm, with someone always being pampered and everyone enjoying the day together.
Our Glow & Chill Package
For groups who want everything arranged in one beautiful experience, we have a Glow & Chill package available. It is a private wellness day created for bachelorette parties, birthdays, girls’ getaways, pre-wedding celebrations and any occasion that deserves a little celebration among friends. The package includes one premium bottle of champagne, a fresh fruit selection, an express facial treatment and a relaxing foot massage for each guest, and one or two dedicated professionals. Everything takes place in the comfort of your villa, residence or yacht, and lasts approximately two to three and a half hours, depending on the size of the group.
The Details That Make the Difference
Small touches shape how a spa day feels. Whether you like champagne served well chilled, prefer a lighter sparkling option or enjoy a fresh juice, a beautiful drink in hand sets the tone from the first moment. Fresh fruit arranged with care, a playlist chosen in advance, soft robes or wraps, a delicate scent in the air and gentle lighting all add to the feeling of an occasion.
Experience has taught me a few things about these afternoons. Still water is easy to forget, and the sun and the treatments are both dehydrating, so I always like to have plenty on the table next to the champagne. I have also noticed that groups relax most once the first glass is poured and the schedule is out of sight, so I plan the timing quietly in the background. Keeping the phones away until the final photograph, taken once everyone is glowing, helps the group stay present with each other.
A Sample Afternoon
Here is a simple timeline for a group of six with two professionals, starting at four in the afternoon:

- 5:30: Hair styling or manicures for those who would like them
- 6:30: A toast at sunset and the group photographs
